Psychological Assessment for Aviation
Evidence-based insight into the people you put in the cockpit.
MindFactor Assessments® combines personality, behavioral competency, cognitive reasoning and multitasking testing into one digital platform — built by an aviation psychologist, structured for EASA-aligned selection decisions.
Decision support, not decision replacement — every result is designed to be reviewed by a qualified assessor.
Technical skill gets a candidate through the door. It doesn't tell you how they'll perform under pressure, in a crew, over a career.
Selection panels routinely see strong flight-school records and clean technical interviews — and still inherit CRM issues, stress-reactivity problems or fit-for-role mismatches years later. MindFactor Assessments® adds a structured, repeatable psychological layer to the process, so the human factors that drive long-term performance and safety are assessed as deliberately as the technical ones.
The Platform
Four assessment modules. One decision-ready report.
Every module is delivered online, scored automatically, and structured for expert review — not for a machine to decide alone.
Personality (PQ)
A broad personality profile covering traits relevant to aviation performance — stress reactivity, conscientiousness, team orientation and more — scored against an aviation-specific reference frame.
Competency (CQ)
Scenario-based situational judgment covering CRM-relevant behavioral competencies — decision-making, communication, workload management — showing both self-report and demonstrated judgment.
Cognitive Reasoning (CR)
Timed reasoning tasks across memory, spatial orientation, numerical estimation and attention — measuring accuracy and decision speed as two separate, reportable results.
Multitasking (MT)
Concurrent-task exercises that reflect the divided-attention demands of flight-deck operations, capturing how performance holds up when several things need attention at once.
Who It's For
Built for everyone involved in the selection decision.
Airlines & Operators
- Standardize psychological assessment across every selection round and base.
- Get a consistent, comparable report format for every candidate.
- Support EASA CAT.GEN.MPA.175(b) documentation requirements.
Flight Schools & ATOs
- Screen applicants for aptitude and fit before committing training slots.
- Give cadets an objective, developmental view of their own profile.
- Reduce costly attrition later in the training pipeline.
Independent Assessors & Psychologists
- Run the full battery online and receive a structured assessor report.
- Keep full clinical judgment — the platform prepares evidence, it doesn't issue verdicts.
- Deliver a client-facing report alongside your own professional evaluation.
Process
From invitation to decision-ready report.
Invite
The candidate receives a secure link — no software installation, works in any modern browser.
Assess
The candidate completes the modules online, with identity and integrity safeguards throughout.
Score
Results are scored automatically against the aviation reference model — nothing is left to manual tallying.
Review & Decide
A structured report goes to the assessor for professional review — the final judgment always stays human.
Science & Trust
Built on established psychometric models — reviewed by people, not left to an algorithm.
MindFactor Assessments® is developed by a licensed aviation psychologist with operational aviation background and EASA CAT.GEN.MPA.175(b) assessor qualification. The personality module draws on established trait models, the competency module is structured around CRM/NOTECHS-relevant behavior, and the cognitive and multitasking modules are built specifically for flight-deck-relevant task demands.
The platform is deliberately built as decision support: every report is designed to be interpreted by a qualified assessor, not to output an automated pass/fail verdict. Candidate data is processed in line with GDPR requirements; our external data protection officer is Frank Müns, immerce consulting.
